4. CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: Pop-up in the Pit
Seeking works for group show pop-up gallery in newly renovated black box theatre.
This exhibition is about navigation, about movement across boundaries, be they spatial or societal. The show will touch on interactions between spaces and bodies; understanding navigation not only as the movement of a body through a space but as a means of claiming and defining space. We are seeking works that engage with the physical exhibition space, and that are interactive, site-specific, and/or sculptural in nature.
The show will take place in the Pit the King’s Theatrical Society’s black box theatre with the desire of sparking dialogues between King’s and NSCAD communities. While the space is best suited to sculpture, site-specific installations, video projections, and performance, all submissions are welcome. This call is not exclusive to NSCAD artists; rather it aims to welcome all those who have a connection to either of the two institutions.
TO SUBMIT: Send a jpg of the work, a description of the work and an artist’s statement to firstname.lastname@example.org.?If proposing work that is performance-based, site-specific, or in the making, please send a 200-word detailed plan and an artist’s statement. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions prior to submitting.
